Wolong Fellowship Program
Panda Mountain is seeking ecological restoration professionals to volunteer at the Wolong Nature Reserve for couple of weeks to a couple of months — all professionals are welcome to stay longer in the reserve. Click here to learn more.
The Wolong Fellowship has three complementary programs:
• practitioner training for hands-on forest landscape restoration and agro-forestry;
• public engagement (“Scaling Up”) in restoration field work; and
• securing livelihoods for indigenous villagers.
The Wolong Nature Reserve was established in 1963.

Wolong Training and Learning Center
The Wolong Conservation Training and Learning Center will coordinate diverse and integrated sustainability programs that advance Giant Panda conservation and “harmonious development” within the Wolong Nature Reserve. Ecological, economic, and cultural projects will be interconnected to advance habitat conservation, ecological restoration of Wolong’s forests and sensitive mountain ecosystems, wildlife conservation, stewardship education, applied conservation research, adaptive management training for protected area personnel, as well as ecological and cultural based tourism. The Center will utilize the buildings and grounds of Wolong’s former captive Giant Panda breeding center at Hetaoping, which is located in a breath-taking gorge surrounded by pristine vegetation and panda habitat.
